Meet the Founders

Sarah Bayne
Sarah Bayne is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, and from Walden University with a Master’s in Reading and Literacy. After graduation, she came to Virginia where she began taking classes at the Russell School of Ballet and then soon proceeded to join the staff. Sarah has choreographed numerous dance numbers for The Fairfax Ballet Company’s Jazz, Tap and Modern Dance Revues, as well as assisted with the Spring Ballet performances and the company’s Nutcracker Performances. Outside of the studio, she has coached, adjudicated, worked as an Educator at Lululemon Athletica, served as the Talent Coordinator for Skydancer Entertainment and danced with locally based Entertainment Agencies. Seven years ago Sarah founded DHH Dance Collaborative, a casual, yet committed performance based dance company located in Arlington, VA. Currently, Bayne is a Reading Specialist in Fairfax County, works as a curriculum writer for VDOE, is an active team member at Washington Sports Club and runs DHH Dance Collaborative.

Joye Thomas
Joye Thomas is a Northern Virginia native. Joye is a well-known dancer, educator, and choreographer in the Metropolitan area. Joye is an entreprenuer at heart and she even published a book in 2016 and 2019, www.danceteacherplanner.com. Joye currently lives in Fredericksburg, VA where she is on the Citizen Advisory Panel for the Fredericksburg City Police and the Fredericksburg Arts Commission as a Commissioner.
